We interview Miss TS Pakistan 2005 representative- Miss Asunta Mae winner of Miss TS International (UK) 2005 to get up close and personal and share her thoughts on the pageant.
What enticed you to join the pageant?
I was very encouraged by the previous year when I was just a spectator. I promised myself I would be on that stage the following year.
What kind of preparation did you make last year?
Too much!! So much I even fell ill the week before the pageant. I applied early to make sure I could join the pageant and prepare properly which meant getting all the necessary costumes sorted out. Obviously a strict diet was in place to maintain my figure! It was hard to eat anyway with all the excitement.
Who did you feel was your tightest competitor and why?
All of them but above all Miss Thailand. She was a sweet girl and knew that she had great potential to get the crown.
How would you best describe your pageant experience?
Exciting and memorable. It has encouraged me to join more pageants in the future and boosted my self confidence.
How does it feel to win a pageant? Had you entered other beauty pageants before or was this your first time?
Oh, ecstatic! At first it feels unreal and then I felt speechless. I couldn't believe I was the winner! It felt like all the hard work was worth it and it I could do it all over again I would.
Yes I have entered many pageants before and luckily I would either win or be a runner-up. I just enjoy it.
What are your tips for this year’s candidates?
Prepare early! Emotionally and physically. It's hard work so you have to do your best and try to enjoy every minute so win or lose you can still be proud of yourself and say I tried my best.
If there was a formula to win what would it be?
Be yourself. Physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Don't give up and try your best until the very end.
Have fun, life is too short to be serious!
Kisses,
Asunta
